This is probable one of the rarest MX bikes on the planet, hand built in 1969 by Gusta Flink of Sweden. Gusta was
head engineer of Husqvarna 2 stroke program. He was ahead of street bikes, the 1962 175cc 3 speed gear box. All the
information is from here say by pretty good source, but might be incorrect due to the rarity of this bike and information
that is out there. Marty Tripes
In 1962, Gusta converted the Silver Pilen to a 250, 4 speed motor, oval case Husqvarna motorcycle. I am told that it
weighed at 187 lbs, I worked on the bike, it felt like I could pick it up and toss it with little effort, unreal light.
I am also told that the other 3 bikes, are owned by Roger DeCoster, Gunner Lindstrem, The Husqvarna Museum in
Sweden and this one is owned by Brad Boyle in California.
This bike is fitted with a Husqvarna Forks, wheels, and swinging arm. I'm told that this frame would accept CZ, Bultaco
and other motors, Flink would ask the buyer what motor they were going to run, at that point Flink would give you the
correct motor mounts for your motor, so Flink was a after market frame that you could chose your favorite power plant
and were good to go. Note. Look at the orange and white street bike in background, its a Suzuki Water Buffalo, also rare.
The Flink motor company started production in 1970, started making the bike, Sadly in 1971 the next year Mr. Gusta
Flink passed away, and with that so did the Flink motorcycle. The man was light years ahead of everyone, Husqvarna
big start had a lot to do with Mr. Flink in my book, look at todays bike's Weighing in at 230 / 220 lbs, Gas tank part of the
frame.
